4rkz Love how the trumpet follows the singer. Love the singing style and the band sounds great. Really like this. Wish I could play as nice trumpet

bandangoh With a simultaneous piano and guitar chord the immersion begins...
Sparse instrumentation, almost spoken vocal,Steph leads us to a dappled light other place.
Perfectly judged spaces full of micro dynamics that will always reward another listen. The whole album builds from this. Brilliant.
Favorite track: Disturbing Body.

1.
Searching for reasons that you stay away Searching for your disturbing body Searching for your disturbing body The math doesn’t add up when I do it alone How many paths travel you home? Disturbing body luring me How does the wind code your mystery?
2.
In needing the antidote Look for the bitter part of the fruit After all the nights so sweet I walk in the street Alone with my tune I savour the bitter part of the fruit You walk on the riverbank You’ve got a friend with you Notice how the light turns blue And something inside Whispers and sighs You’re tasting the bitter part of the fruit
3.
Sun-spotted apple I knew you would be falling down Sun licked a golden apple I knew you would be faulty I had Sad noons for walking Walking to the apple orchard Sad moons for talking Talking to my silver apple Down to the bay Down to the bay Down to the bay We swim alone again Down to the bay where you had the right sway We floated all day The waves weren’t unkind And we both took our time And nothing could stand in our way Did you reach for me too? Did you notice the bruise As it softened? As it ripened?
4.
Bluebird 02:09
Bluebird, what happened to your head? You fell down near the lake of the agewood Bluebird, what happened to your heart? You went down for a swim in the comfort of strangers Let a man get close, didn’t tend to the dangers Did you forget the stars? Your shape was marked in the air by an angel Did you forget your part? Your eyes were closed to the lines and the angles Your friends could see you had gotten tangled Blind love hurt you once All we have is our own light to fly by A quiet light, a light to fly by Light for flight All we have is our own light to fly by A quiet light, a light to fly by Our own light to fly by A quiet light, a light to fly by
5.
Caught you on the train underneath the window isn’t motion strange the faster it goes we go would I love the best underneath an oak tree What was that you said forgot that I was dreaming Am I the one who dreams too much Underneath the bridge passing by the ocean kiss you on the head heady from the motion would we love the best underneath an elm tree what was that you said did you catch my meaning
6.
Flowers 02:19 video
Flowers on the body dead Flowers I sent Powder on the eyes of them They’re too young to die Dying makes a sort of paste It’s good for the eyes Dying makes a sort of cloud It broadens the sky Dying makes a sort of sound It darkens the night The night was a warning For my paciful eyes Heard through the shadows You’d worn a disguise
7.
Salt or Sand 02:31
The land was wet, the land was dry Caught a piece of the land in the corner of my eye Wouldn’t it be fine if the tide went out in time The tide is awfully high in the recess of my mind What is this land? A grain of salt or a grain of sand Rain moves fast across the dune But it doesn’t touch my hand The harder the wind blows The taller we stand How we left, we had no choice As the sand filled in the room, it also filled my voice Had a look around but the shifting of the ground Was softer than the sound of the whisper I had found What is this land? A grain of salt or a grain of sand
8.
Wrote a prayer To sing inside my head Touched the wall Forgot that I am small Was alone Found the white hair in my comb And knew the mountain Continued to grow And I thought that perhaps I could join it We dip so low To reach the bottom of the well Singing quiet prayers Underneath our breath Our breath Our breath Our breath Swallows dipping low into the well The search for water causes strange behaviour Eating curdled milk and bread When will we feast again Tied a bracelet onto your wrist With a bell that I had kissed But the bell it froze And went silent in the mist We dip so low To reach the bottom of the well Singing quiet prayers Underneath our breath Our breath Our breath Our breath
9.
Last Sip 03:07
The saddest breath of the bottle is your last sip Old dog waits in the corner for the next trick The saddest step of the mountain is the tip Mostly I wait at the bottom, overthink it The saddest sound of the mourning is the dove Singing her woes from a wire, up above The saddest hue of desire is undone Watching the feeling expire, till there’s none
10.
Midnight at the station Resting my head on a carpet bag We don’t need nothing To feel this bad Midnight at the station Resting my chin on an open book We don’t know how it ends Until we look Queenie lit a cigarette I shared an orange with a man I met We don’t have to misstep To feel regret Paced around the station Watching the way they were watching me And I turn my eyesight Inside of me And if you thought you had it all figured out You’ve got another thing coming And if you thought you found another way out You’d better start running After the song The song of our lives is sung Nobody’s there Nobody’s there After the song The song of our lives is sung Nobody’s there Nobody’s there

about

These songs, for the most part, have to do with the heart.
